The Philanthropy Manager will play a key role in embedding a relationship fundraising culture across the wider Trust and driving income growth from major donors, trusts/foundations and potential corporate income. Working closely with the Head of Fundraising and with senior-level support the post holder will develop and deliver this income stream which has such high potential for Camphill Village Trust.

The ideal candidate will possess a solid track record of growing income from charitable trusts and major donors and of building long-term relationships with funders. You will have worked strategically at manager level to develop and deliver philanthropic giving plans with successful financial outcomes.  A sound understanding of current charity law, compliance, and fundraising best practices as they apply to major funders is crucial along with a passion for the work of Camphill Village Trust.

Pratham is one of the largest and most respected education charities in India. We developed a model that can teach a child to read and do basic maths in as little as 30 days for £14. We also have preschool, vocational and women's education programmes. 

We have strong support from the UK Indian diaspora and are in a period of significant growth that has seen us triple in size in three years; we now raise £1.5m a year and have an ambition to at least triple again. Our flagship fundraising event is our annual Gala; we will return to Raffles at the Old War Office this year on 8th November. The gala sponsorship pack is included with the job pack below. The evening consistently raises over £500k; this year, you will support the delivery of the Gala, but next year, you will lead it along with a calendar of cultivation and stewardship events that will help us grow partnerships with major donors, corporates and foundations.

While you will work in a small, fully remote team day to day, you will be part of the global Pratham network. The team in India has over 6,000 staff, and they raise $28m locally. Pratham USA has 14 chapters and produces around 12 galas a year, which contributes to its $30m income; you can share the films and branding of their galas, meaning we can really stretch our budget to put on an outstanding event. 

We are a small team, and whilst an events person is vital for our development if someone wanted to get involved in other fundraising streams, particularly corporate or major donors, we would be delighted to read about it in your application and discuss it at the interview or in a call before the interview—which are welcomed.

All current staff have visited India to see the programmes, and whilst we can't guarantee you a visit as we grow, it remains an ambition. We can offer a level of flexibility on hours, we'd consider someone four days a week, but flexibility and some extra (paid) days might be required around the gala time. Our Executive Director stops for 30 minutes at 3 to pick up his children from school, work patterns that suit you can be considered.

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer and working closely with the Chief Executive, the post-holder will lead on all aspects of development, marketing and fundraising, and people/HR development; maintaining high level relationships with donors and prospective donors and maximising opportunities to secure new sources of income from individuals, companies and charitable trusts, as well as improving our internal comms.

The role

As National Support Coordinator you will provide support to our members living with a rare neuromuscular condition, myasthenia, their families, and carers. You will work alongside three additional National Support Coordinators and a Benefits and Welfare Officer, ensuring our members receive the support they need, via telephone, zoom meetings and email.

We are looking for someone that is willing to work a Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. There may be the need to occasionally work during weekends and evenings and therefore there is a need to work flexibly when required. All evening and weekend work is agreed in advance.

Who are we?

Myaware is the only charity in the UK dedicated solely to the care and support of people affected by myasthenia. 

We are working hard to raise awareness, as it is a little-unknown condition. We provide support for people with myasthenia and their families, whilst offering advice and tips for living with the illness. 

We also fund the research that brings us closer to finding a cure as well as funding specialists nurses and advisors.

The myasthenia’s are a group of neuromuscular conditions. They are rare but also manageable and can affect anyone, regardless of age, gender, or nationality. Myasthenia gravis, ocular myasthenia, and Lambert-Eaton myasthenic syndrome are autoimmune conditions whereas congenital myasthenic syndrome is caused by an inherited genetic fault. It is thought that there are approximately 20,000 people currently living with myasthenia in the UK.

The Job

The Learning Networks Portfolio Manager will:

• Report to the Managing Director

The Role In Brief

This position plays a central role in the delivery of Koreo’s work; responsible for a portfolio of the company’s biggest and most established programmes. It will be a varied role and will require someone to lead project teams in the design and delivery of high quality national learning programmes, while also playing a key role in the development of Koreo as an organisation
better able to build a just and regenerative future.

1. Responsible for the successful delivery and development of a portfolio of national learning programmes and projects. This portfolio of work is primarily focused on cross-sector learning programmes that bring cohorts of people together around learning missions. Examples include Civic Futures and the London Engagement Collaborative
with the GLA.
2. Responsible for sustaining and growing the portfolio, and with it Koreo’s profile, network, and income. This might be focused on developing the existing programmes in the portfolio, or could include wider writing, public speaking, pitching and networking
which support the distribution of the work.
3. An internal leadership role in developing a just and inclusive culture in which a diverse team can do its best work. This includes line management of one Project Coordinator, development of organisational practice and process, and work with the team on culture and development.

● A familiarity with subjects relevant to Koreo’s work is essential. Successful candidates will likely be interested in subjects like collective impact, new approaches to power, working in and with complex systems, organisational design and psychology, participatory futures, activism and organising, multi-disciplinary practice, and much more that we don’t know about yet.

● An ability to communicate clearly and effectively with a range of stakeholders, with excellent verbal and written skills.

Operational Excellence:

● Experience working in a role which required excellent project planning, management & reporting. 

● Experience working in a role in which you were responsible for building and then delivering against project budgets.

● Experience working with a CRM to manage relationships and programmes of work. 

● An ability to organise and manage yourself, to work and deliver at pace to a high standard across a number of projects, to spot and solve problems as part of a proactive attitude.

● An ability to cope well with competing demands and changing environments, demonstrating flexibility and an ability to work in different settings and with different people.

Development & External Influencing:

● An understanding of the landscape of social change work, with a particular focus on UK non-profit and public sectors and the needs of people, organisations and networks in this space. 

● Experience of winning, and/or growing projects or programmes of work to deliver on a business development target. This may be through growing existing projects, writing proposals/tender responses, or by taking a new idea from concept to operational delivery. Experience of doing this in an equivalent context is desirable.

● An ability to influence externally, with a particular focus on the production of content (in the form of blogs, articles, reports, videos, infographics) that support campaigns and external influencing.

About Pancreatic Cancer Action:

Pancreatic Cancer Action (PCA) was founded in 2010 by a rare survivor of the disease. We are a small, creative and passionate team committed to improving early diagnosis and saving lives. In August 2020, Pancreatic Cancer Action merged with Pancreatic Cancer Scotland making our team stronger than ever. 

Pancreatic cancer has only a 7% survival rate and this figure has not improved significantly for over 50 years. Despite it being the 5th biggest cancer killer in the UK, pancreatic cancer receives only 3% of overall research funding. 

With a strong focus on early diagnosis, it is Pancreatic Cancer Action’s aim to improve survival rates through raising awareness, medical education, improved patient information and by funding research specifically into the early diagnosis of pancreatic cancer. Simply put, we want more people diagnosed in time for surgery, currently the only potential for a cure.

Main responsibilities:  

• Develop and grow the annual programme of fundraising events such as the London Marathon and Great North Run.
• Grow and steward a pipeline of new and existing community and events audiences and fundraising opportunities with a particular focus on England. Ensuring to always maintain the highest quality supporter journey.
• Manage the delivery of the virtual challenge events. Add insight and support the annual Pancreatic Awareness Month Campaign and help to further develop Pyjama’s for Pan Can to new audiences.
• As a senior member of the Income Generation Team you will contribute to robust financial planning, management and reporting of income and expenditure in your own areas of expertise.
• Responsible for the delivery and recruitment into PCA’s Challenge Events programme making sure participants receive exceptional supporter care.
• Develop compelling and engaging third party fundraising materials to inspire supporters to reach their maximum fundraising targets.
• Contribute to the development of automated and integrated supporter journey and engagement plans with the support of the Head of Income Generation to ensure a consistent and efficient supporter experience.
• Seek out engagement opportunities to support donor acquisition and retention utilising new and existing channels and platforms.
• You will be an excellent relationship manager who can maintain accurate records on our CRM system (Salesforce) to ensure that we develop, engage and update our supporters.
• Work closely with colleagues in Marketing and Communications, to create engaging products and community and event campaigns. Updating the fundraising section of the PCA website and other third party platforms with compelling content and seamless user journeys.
• Be competent at data inputting, IT literate and very organised. Empathy and excellent communication skills are vital in this role and the candidate must be able to collaborate and work well as part of a team.
• Attending when necessary, external events, conferences and exhibitions across the UK and being the face of Pancreatic Cancer Action, acknowledging that some of these may involve overnight stays and weekends.

Income and targets

• Help to grow Pancreatic Cancer Action’s income from community and challenge event fundraisers.
• Develop ongoing stewardship journey for Community/DIY Fundraisers and increase average gift though exceptional supporter care.
• Achieve Financial and non-financial targets and KPI’s from corporate and community fundraising as agreed with the Head of Income Generation.
• Monitor and control allocated fundraising budgets and regularly update the Head of Income Generation.
• Prepare and monitor reporting for all online fundraising platforms to fit with our accounting systems reporting this to the Head of Income Generation monthly.
• Contribute to Pancreatic Cancer Action’s fundraising strategy.

Job Title: Partnership Development Manager

Salary: £34,500.

Contract Type: Contract for 18 months; there is a strong possibility that currently anticipated growth in the team may see this role become permanent during the contract term. Full time (35 hours per week) although flexible hours may be considered; the role may require occasional evening and weekend work  

Working location: Home based. The post holder should expect to come into the office a minimum of two days per month, with the possibility of up to five days per month being routinely required.

The latest research suggesting that the number of children and young people at risk of hunger has rocketed to three million means that one in five children don't have enough to eat.   

When a child is too hungry to learn, when they’re aching for something to eat, they can’t concentrate. They can’t absorb information. Big feelings and worries can be impossible to control. They fall behind in their studies.  

Magic Breakfast provide a nutritious and filling breakfast to over 200,000 children and young people every school day. We work with schools in areas of high disadvantage, helping staff target the children most in need without barrier or stigma.   

Magic Breakfast are ambitious to grow our impact in order to remove hunger as a barrier to learning for all children and young people in the UK. To do this, we need to continue to grow our fundraised income, of which new corporate income is a significant element.

JOB INFORMATION

We are seeking candidates who are after the next step in their fundraising journey. You will already have strong credentials and be ready to start your journey into Partnership Management which will include leading in delivering the new business plan and working closely with colleagues in the Partnership Development team and across the organisation to identify, create and secure new strategic, multi-year corporate partnerships

• Building a pipeline that reflects Magic Breakfast’s restricted and unrestricted funding needs, including Gift in Kind requirements, working with the Partnership Research Executive to research and identify prospects with potential.  
• Making use of multiple tactics to secure meetings with prospects including, for example, cold calling, emailing, running events, event networking and social selling on platforms like LinkedIn.
• Ensuring that risk-screening and due diligence processes have been completed in line with Magic Breakfast’s Ethical Fundraising and Due Diligence policies. 
• Understanding each prospect’s strategic interests through meetings, discussions and research and defining the mutual advantage in partnership. 
• Developing and delivering engaging, relevant and impactful pitches and written proposals to prospective partners.

The post holder will be flexible and skilled, with an essential interest in and experience of working with migrant and refugee clients, many of whom have additional complex needs. You will work closely with our immigration caseworker manager to provide one-to-one specialist immigration advice and casework to migrant and refugee clients in Brighton & Hove and across East and West Sussex in the areas of immigration & asylum up to OISC L2. We are currently the only free, Level 2-accredited, year-round provider of out-of-scope immigration advice on the South Coast, and increasing local immigration capacity is critical to address growing demand and changing demographics in the region. Our current core caseload is largely non-EEA nationals whose immigration cases are out of scope of legal aid. However we are also seeing and will continue to see new arrivals and emerging needs in the region including Afghans resettled under the ARAP and ACRS schemes, Sudanese evacuees, EEA nationals who still have not registered for pre-settled or settled status, and an increasing number of both newly arrived and established asylum seekers placed in emergency (‘contingency’) and dispersal Home Office accommodation.

The balance of time spent between different client groups and cases will therefore need to be responsive to the changes we see in the city and region. Many of our clients also have complex additional needs including health and homelessness and the post holder will be expected to liaise closely with our generalist caseworkers and external providers to ensure that people’s holistic needs are met.

You will work as part of a small, supportive advice and casework team that also includes two generalist advice caseworkers, an employability caseworker, a groupwork facilitator and four dedicated resettlement caseworkers who are supporting newly resettled refugee families mainly from Syria and Afghanistan.

Regular supervision and support and in-house and on-the-job training will be provided, as well as external training on specific issues where needed. However you will need to be ready to step immediately into a busy advice environment with the necessary confidence, skills and knowledge to begin to deliver advice and casework and pick up an existing caseload.

Ideally you will already be OISC L2-accredited, but if only L1-accredited you must be willing to work towards accreditation within the 6-month probationary period.

What will you be doing?

This is a key role within our dedicated communications team and will focus on leveraging and shaping Plantlife’s activity and presence in the media, alongside a job share colleague. You will support the Head of Communications and Engagement with the leadership, planning and delivery of Plantlife’s media strategy to raise awareness, engage stakeholders and drive support for our cause.

This role will support our campaigning activity in the UK and internationally and will be one of Plantlife key external voices, playing a pivotal role in shaping our key messages. Working across the organisation and with colleagues leading our conservation, advocacy, and partnerships work you will keep abreast of key organisational activities and create opportunities for media and campaigning.

This is an exciting new position within Plantlife’s successful and ambitious Partnerships Team. It will play a crucial role in developing and implementing strategies to engage a diverse range of existing and new supporters to secure high value gifts for Plantlife's vital conservation work.

The Senior Partnerships Manager will communicate confidently and clearly about the value of mutually beneficial collaborations to achieve common goals. This role will need to work cross team, innovate to wow donors, craft supporter journeys, and create long term commitments to deliver core income towards Plantlife’s mission to create a world rich in plants and fungi.

EduSpots is an innovative, dynamic, and community-driven UK and Ghanaian registered charity which connects, trains, and equips voluntary community educators to drive community-led change through education spaces named ‘Spots’. Our vision is of our world where communities unite to create the futures they want to see, through education.

Since 2016, through collaborating extensively with over 250 local volunteers, who take a central leadership role in the development of the network, we have supported 50 communities in creating and running community-led and owned education spaces named ‘Spots’, with a strategy to support them in moving towards our ‘Dream Spot Model’. Together, we are developing a model for a community-led education space with accompanying network engagement that could have relevance in settings across the world. 

Our Ghana-based programmes team creates collaborative learning opportunities through three leadership programmes for volunteers: the Ignite, Catalyse and Peer Mentoring Programmes. These enable them to lead EduLit, EduSTEM, EduKidz and Ignite Equity clubs, alongside locally designed education projects, reaching over 10,000 students of all ages annually. About this role

We are looking for an experienced and dynamic fundraising professional, with a proven track record of income generation and a strong ability to develop impactful relationships with the skills to bring aligned individuals and organisations into our long-term EduSpots community. The post holder will be creative, passionate and self-motivated, with strong marketing and communications skills, able to design and implement strategic fundraising approaches. 

In this role, you will take on responsibility for identifying, creating and delivering impactful fundraising strategies that enable us to generate further relationships and income in support of our programmes. 

You will oversee the development of our individual giving and monthly giving strategies and further develop relationships with schools, corporate organisations and NGOs, with a focus on resource acquisition (e.g. books, electronic devices) alongside fundraising. You will also play a supportive role in events and campaigns, and work closely with our Head of Communications to ensure our marketing and communications strategy is integrated with our fundraising aims. Currently, we already have a trusts and foundations manager, but would welcome applicants with experience of trust fundraising.

Main Duties and Responsibilities 

The key responsibilities of this role are to:

• Develop our individual giving and monthly giving strategies, including:

  • Ensuring we have the right tools in place.

  • Strengthening thanking and communications to existing supporters.

  • Trialling new strategies for outreach to new audiences.

• Organise occasional fundraising events (e.g. face-to-face events in London; virtual events and fundraising challenges).

• Support organisation and delivery of appeals and campaigns (e.g. the Big Give).

• Support the development of impactful relationships with schools, universities, corporates and NGOs for fundraising and resource acquisition (e.g. books, digital devices, science equipment). 

• If time and experience, possibly support grant applications. 

• Line manage, and provide support to, the intern/s (fundraising).

• Ensure all administrative tasks relating to the role are carried out accurately.

Skills, Experience and Attributes

Essential

• Proven track record of successful income generation from individuals or communities - ideally in a similar education / international development organisation 

• Experience of developing and maintaining successful income generating relationships (e.g. with schools, corporates, individuals, communities)

• Experience of digital marketing to engage new charity supporters / donors (including using paid advertising and innovative engagement techniques)

• Experience of email marketing and donor conversion strategies

• Strong communication and marketing skills, ideally with basic design skills (Canva)

• Ability to work effectively in a remote based role with minimal day-to-day support 

• Outstanding interpersonal skills 

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

• Ability to use own initiative and work to tight and competing deadlines

• Ability to effectively manage workload and prioritise tasks 

• Good IT skills - Google Suite, Microsoft Office, Zoom, Canva, Social Media

Our Business Development department is integral to the success of our organisation and we are looking for an experienced, organised and driven individual to fulfil the role of Head of Business Development. 

We are looking for someone who is comfortable in leading and co-ordinating a team. You will lead and operationally manage the department in our external business development engagement activities as well as our internal, cross-departmental collaboration working towards our ‘Evolve Strategy’.

You will have a clear and demonstrable understanding of configuring, organising and developing business development strategies and an understanding of how an awarding body operates particularly within the education landscape. 

A proactive communication style, strong organisation and interpersonal skills and a decisive nature are key qualities required in this role. You will operate in a flexible and predominantly remote working environment; therefore a demonstrable experience of working using your own initiative alongside a desire to innovate and test new ways of working are essential. 

Your team will be supported by a Business Development Co-ordinator and two Business Development Managers, each focused on retention of business and new business (New Business Development Manager to be recruited). Additionally, a team of Business Development Officers and Centre Engagement Executives also support the team. 

We view this role as an integral part of successfully delivering our strategy. You will have the opportunity to shape the way your department operates to support the needs of the business as well as our centres. 

The role fits within the wider Leadership Team and working closely with other HODs and Managers will be a key ingredient to success. 

Role purpose: 

• Set & deliver the Business Development Strategy alongside the Director of Engagement that supports growth, reach, and impact of Leadership Skills Foundation programmes. 
• Drive operational progress by developing positive and proactive working relationships with other Heads of Department.
• Influence the future direction of the Leadership Skills Foundation as a member of the Leadership Team.

The main resposnsibiltiies will be:

• Effectively manage and develop the Business Development Team and relationship management functions to meet agreed budgets and maximise learner/programme registrations.
• Accountable for the Business Development team’s sales planning and forecasting including annual budgeting.
• Regularly developing and presenting clear insight and analysis on market activity, responsibilities, and opportunities.
• Work closely with the Head of Marketing & Communications and New Business Development Manager to devise and deliver targeted new business campaigns and activities.
• Work closely with the Retained Business Development Manager to devise and deliver strategies to retain and grow our centres.
• Work with the Business Development Coordinator to ensure engagement processes and the customer journey meet the needs of centres efficiently.
• Maintain a working knowledge and up to date awareness of the sectors, market audiences and landscape the Leadership Skills Foundation works with.

Head of (HOD) Responsibilities

• To carry out environmental scanning to recognize opportunities and challenges and formulate appropriate actions to position the Foundation in line with its agreed objectives.
• To implement and develop appropriate business management capabilities and practices across the organisation.
• To operationally implement the strategy and set work expectations as agreed by the Board and the SLT.
