If so, we’d love to work with you to improve the experiences of people using health and social care services in Barnet.

As our Senior Research & Participation Officer, you will be working on an exciting new project to improve primary care access for residents. Your flair for planning and logistics will enable you to both gather evidence about the experiences of Barnet residents, and to collate existing data. You’ll also be comfortable producing accessible how-to guidance, to enable people experiencing health inequalities to access services.

The role will involve building effective relationships with stakeholders including GP Practice Managers, voluntary sector organisations and NHS Integrated Care Board partners. You will work with these stakeholders constructively and persuasively, to seed partnership initiatives and achieve positive change for Barnet residents.

About Us

Centrepoint, the UK’s leading youth homelessness charity is looking for dynamic, passionate and motivated Support and Progression Officers that can provide quality support to our young people to join our Barnet Foyer service in Cricklewood. We help young people by giving them the practical and emotional support they need to find a job and live independently. Together with our partners, we support thousands of homeless young people each year.

The service accommodates 24 single young people, usually, between the ages of 16 and 21. Young people stay at the service for up to 2 years before moving to more permanent accommodation. Barnet Service is quite a large building and offers a number of additional resources including a fully equipped gym. Barnet is a diversified environment with young people and colleagues from diverse ethnic backgrounds, and the service and other stakeholders celebrate and maximize the opportunities that diversity present.

This role involves working 37.5 hours per week on a rota Monday to Friday (not including Bank Holidays). All staff must be available to work the hours of 8:00 am to 4:00 pm and 1:00 pm to 9:00 pm. You will be working with a team of three other Support and Progression Officers and the manager. Two staff members work together for each shift.

In this role you will:

• Work face to face with young people and support them to achieve their goals and independence.
• Work independently and as part of a team to ensure the highest possible standards of accommodation
• Undertake initial and ongoing needs/risk assessments for young people. Be able to identify safeguarding risks and understand how to escalate any concerns
• Manage your own caseload of young people, person centred support in line with their needs and aspirations
• Liaise with multiple agencies to ensure effective communication across the service and externally including social work teams, YOS, health and other statutory services and voluntary agencies
• Make internal and external referrals to a wide range of statutory and voluntary agencies for specialist support and Employment and Training opportunities
• Support young people to manage their rent accounts through liaison with the DWP, Social Services CenterPoint’s rent team and building their own personal budgeting skills

Join Dementia UK as a Governance Officer, where you will provide comprehensive, efficient, and high-quality administrative support for risk, compliance, and governance matters.

We are looking for an experienced people manager for our Skills Development team. This team creates and delivers internal training for Centrepoint colleagues. This role will lead a small team of trainers who design and deliver training both under an existing curriculum and new developments as demand requires. The Skills Development Manager is responsible for a team who are developing a robust, diverse, inclusive and inspiring curriculum across the organisation. We are developing a large amount of new and exciting courses across a wide range of subjects, so we are open to individuals with a variety of experience. About the role

This is a new role, and offers an exciting opportunity to join a supportive and highly ambitious fundraising team, enabling you to build your knowledge and expertise across a range of income streams. This will include working across trusts and foundations, corporate partners, and major donors.

As Philanthropy and Partnerships Fundraiser, you will play an integral role in the Philanthropy and Partnerships Team, ensuring we reach our ambitious fundraising target. You will provide support to the team by undertaking thorough research, prospecting into new funding opportunities, coordinating, and managing our Small Trusts Programme, our Small Corporate Partner Programme, and The Polaris Club, the charity’s giving club.

As this is a new role, there will be the opportunity to support the team across all tasks as needed, and therefore the role may develop and grow with time and experience.

Centrepoint, the UK’s leading youth homelessness charity, is looking for experienced Support and Progression Officers to join our Berwick Street and Westminster Housing Support services based in Westminster. We help vulnerable young people by giving them the practical and emotional support they need to find a job and live independently. Together with our partners, we support thousands of homeless young people each year.

Berwick Street service is a high support needs 24hours service for people aged 16 to 25yrs. Many clients will be care leavers or have experienced homelessness.

Our Westminster services is a low support service at the final stage of the Westminster’s Pathway. The service aim is to improve the life chances of single homeless or vulnerably housed young people, supporting them to develop independent living skills in supported temporary accommodation. The service works with young people in shared flats.

In this role you will:

• Work face to face with young people and support them to achieve their goals and independence.
• Work independently and as part of a team to ensure the highest possible standards of accommodation
• Undertake initial and ongoing needs/risk assessments for young people
• Manage your own caseload of young people, providing holistic support in line with their needs and aspirations
• Liaise with multiple agencies to ensure effective communication across the service and externally including social work teams, YOS, health, and other statutory services and voluntary agencies
• Make internal and external referrals to a wide range of statutory and voluntary agencies for specialist support and Employment and Training opportunities
• Support young people to manage their rent accounts through liaison with the DWP, Social Services and building their own personal budgeting skills

The Supported Accommodation Kickstart Futures service. currently supports young people across the London Boroughs of Sutton and Croydon, who are living either in specified semi-independent properties or elsewhere in the community.

Location of the post:

 You will be community based, so you would be expected to support and travel where the young people live covering Croydon and Sutton.

Hours

Full time – 37 hours.

The Ideal candidate will need:

• Experience of working with looked after children / care leavers and understanding of the accommodation needs of care leavers.
• Knowledge and understanding of the specific needs of young people leaving the care system.
• Ability to listen to and communicate effectively with children and young people.
• Knowledge/understanding of the needs of Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking children and young people.
• Understanding benefits processes, including Universal Credit and Housing Benefit.
• You will need to be a confident writer with analytical skills and experience in completing reports.

Some of the key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• The delivery of 1:1 keywork support to care leavers that meets their individual needs. Frequency of key work will be dependent on the support package of each young person.
• Development and delivery of weekly group work programmes for care leavers.
• Assessing young people's needs and agreeing a support plan for each young person in partnership with the Personal Advisor. Each plan will have clear milestones and outcomes to be.
• Taking appropriate referrals for the service.
• Producing quarterly monitoring reports and attending quarterly contract meetings as part of the quality assurance framework.

History of Service:

The Kickstart Futures service has been established to provide support to Unaccompanied Asylum Seekers and young people who have been trafficked, aged 18-25. We also support care leavers who are not from a forced migration background. The service launched in June 2020, initially supporting young people living in 1 semi-independent property in Sutton. We are currently providing support in 6 semi-independent properties in Sutton and Croydon, as well as within different community settings. We expect this service to continue to grow, and to provide support across an increasing number of properties.

About Us

The Upper Room (TUR) works with a wide range of financially and socially disadvantaged groups including homeless people, people with long-term mental health conditions, asylum-seekers, refugees and ex-offenders – helping them to improve their lives and become productive members of society. Central to our offering is our UR4Meals service, providing free, home-cooked food to people who cannot afford to provide for themselves. We are also very proud of our UR4Driving programme, which supports people recently out of prison with free driving lessons in exchange for community volunteering. Gaining a driving licence greatly enhances their future employability prospects and helps break the cycle of re-offending. Additionally, our UR4Jobs project focusses on both client wellbeing and breaking down the many barriers to employment faced by disadvantaged people every day.

The role

This newly scoped role reports into the CEO and is critical to our ability to create the income we need to keep up with the ever-increasing demand on our services. Primarily, the role has two fundamental elements to it: firstly, working with both a specialist external consultant and the CEO in planning, submitting and reporting on the grants that make up a large proportion of our income; and secondly, the planning and managing of TUR’s traditional (and always fun) annual events. These include celebrity interviews and talks, garden parties and various community events such as the Green Days festival in Chiswick. There are additionally a number of community relationships that add great value to our work and efforts to raise funds which require regular contact. Occasionally, the role will also require presenting or talking to both funders and community groups as we share our magnificent story with them – and ultimately, convince them to support us.

About You

You live within – or know well – West/Central London; you probably need a job with some working flexibility and want to have genuine belief in the cause you’re promoting. You have a CV that demonstrates experience in a comparable role: this could be in another charity, CIC or other Non-Profit organisation. You are comfortable and confident with working autonomously, so you will need to be disciplined; you can articulate and ‘bring to life’ our story through your advanced written and oral communication skills, enabling us to always deliver highly compelling reasons to secure gain financial (and other) support. You don’t need to be a Microsoft Office expert, but you should be familiar with Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Finally, you are self-motivated and energetic, as well as passionate about making sure disadvantaged groups across West London get the opportunity to improve their highly challenging lives. Ideally you will have a driver's licence and use of a car, but this is not essential.
