ABOUT THIS ROLE

In the past five years of running our Charity Entrepreneurship Incubation Program, we have found that the best predictor of which incubated charities will end up causing the highest impact is the quality of the co-founding team. As we scale up, one of our biggest bottlenecks is identifying highly talented, value-aligned people out of the thousands of candidates from all over the world who apply to our programs. The difference in outcomes between a bad and a good hire can be huge, but this variation is even more extreme when it comes to co-founders. The initial staff of an organization set the pace, tone, and culture for the long-term. We estimate the impact of each average alumna/alumnus of our Charity Entrepreneurship Incubation Program to be equivalent to donating $200,000-350,000 USD / year to effective charities. Finding 20-30 of these gems each year is difficult but is incredibly impactful. As such, the Recruitment Manager is one of the most important roles we are hiring for. 

The Recruitment Manager will focus on:

• Vetting multi-stage application processes (application forms, test tasks, interviews and psychometrics)

• Improving and adjusting our processes (e.g. coming up with predictive interview questions for new job roles; improving existing questions and tasks on the basis of data collected)

• Developing and formalizing a deep understanding of what traits, motivations, and personality types will be successful in different kinds of career paths and roles

• (if interested and a strong fit) Working with our outreach team to develop and execute marketing strategies that speak to the right people, inform them about our supported career paths, and help them apply

• (if interested and a strong fit) Managing or co-managing the recruitment team

The kinds of tasks involved in this look something like this:

• Evaluating hundreds of application forms and test tasks to figure out which are the most promising, using a wide range of information, formal and informal clues, and heuristics

• Evaluating and conducting candidate interviews to help identify and select the most promising candidates to join our programs

• Formalizing informal hiring heuristics into rubrics and learning algorithms (no programming required)

• Project managing each application round to ensure each candidate gets useful, timely, and relevant test tasks and information on next steps

• Analyzing historical data to pull out findings for future rounds (here’s an older public example)

• Conducting interviews with successful applicants to create feedback loops for improving our processes

• Automating aspects of the process to increase scalability and reduce staff time

• Conducting interviews with experts in vetting and hiring to determine cross-applicable lessons that we can apply

• Building models and character profiles of ideal candidates and talking to alumni from our programs to refine and improve these

• Running analysis and back correlations on historically successful founders to identify traits that may define the most promising applicants

What We Need

We expect excellent candidates will meet many (but not all) of the criteria below. We are looking for high general ability, strong work ethic, and value/methods-aligned mindset more than prior work experience or a specific background.

• Able to move to and work from our London office at least 2 days per week (exceptions may be made for excellent applicants who do not meet this criterion)

• Able to work flexibly and collaboratively in a small team and have a positive influence on the teams they work in and around

• Results-oriented, with a consequentialist mindset, and a love of high levels of intellectual challenge 

• Comfortable with prioritization, numerical quantification, and simple spreadsheet calculations - or excited to learn these

• Able to work both autonomously and in a small team

• Excited to work in this role and feels as though it could be a great fit

• Interested in growing at and with AIM long-term

Bonus Criteria

• Background in fast moving and/or quantitative workplaces (e.g. tech startups, consulting, finance)

The Marylebone Project is one of the UK’s largest providers of support services to women experiencing homelessness. The women we support have multiple disadvantages and require dedicated services like us to provide them with the right help to get back on their feet. You will provide Advice, Guidance and information (IAG) to vulnerable adults and holistic support to address their needs within a psychologically informed environment and will provide specialist VAWG support.

Part of your role will also include Coordinating and facilitating our Drop-in Service for rough sleepers, providing them with a range of services including food provision; laundry; showers; clothing and nurses clinics.

Hours

Average 40 hours a week on a five-week rota. Normal working pattern will be working across early and late shifts & working two weekends. Pension

FareShare South West distributes surplus food across the region to charities working with vulnerable people.  We need volunteers to do everything from driving vans to picking orders in the warehouses, and lots in between.

This role leads on rota and data management, working with warehouse managers and reporting to the Volunteer Recruitmant Manager in Bristol, with occasional travel.  Recruitment and retention support, and identifying individuals who would benefit from our flagship employability programme FareChance to help their personal and professional development is an important element, as well as working with the wider team to develop volunteering opportunities for corporate supporters and food partners.

My client is charitable foundation who are looking for a Senior Rewards Manager. You will be responsible for assessing their current structure, developing a redesign and implementing changes to ensure alignment with organisational goals.

Role

• Lead a comprehensive review of the current reward structure and identify areas for improvement
• Following review, lead the design of a total reward structure
• Agree reward principles with key stakeholders, presenting and discussing structure options aligned to the principles and building a total reward structure suitable for consultation.
• During the design phase, collaborate with key stakeholders, including the Senior Leadership Team, Union Representatives and wider staff
• Develop communications messaging as appropriate during the different stages of the project.
• Manage a benchmarking process and recommend adjustments
• Be responsible for agreeing transition principles, carrying out impact analysis of new proposals per employee, and other data modelling as well as cost analysis to demonstrate the implications of proposed changes.

As the sole employee of The Leche Trust, the Grants Director will spearhead the Trust's operations and day to day management, providing invaluable support to the Trustees while managing relationships with external stakeholders and funding networks. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in administering grants, overseeing governance and secretarial duties, managing financial administration, and facilitating effective communication both internally and externally.

Example of responsibilities:

• Manage the grant programme and smaller funds for conservation bursaries and research projects.

The Grants Director requires an ability to work independently, self-direct and prioritise.

We're looking for someone who's experienced in grant making process and systems, who also has knowledge of good practice in charity administration and governance. They will require excellent communication skills and have some experience working directly with a board of trustees. As the Engagement Events Lead, you will oversee the planning, project management, and delivery of a diverse portfolio of bespoke events across the organisation. These events, ranging from dinners and receptions to webinars and VIP tours, will serve to maximize donor cultivation and stewardship opportunities. With a keen attention to detail, you will prepare and maintain project plans for each event, ensuring that deadlines are met, and budgets are adhered to while providing regular updates to stakeholders.

Working closely with colleagues across fundraising, particularly with the High Value Fundraising teams, you will build strong working relationships to ensure the successful delivery of events. This entails leading project group meetings, responding to inquiries from various stakeholders, and advocating best practices in event management. Additionally, you will supervise staff and volunteers at events and maintain excellent relationships with internal colleagues and external stakeholders to facilitate effective collaboration throughout the event process.

To be considered, you will bring experience of delivering successful event/project management in a fundraising environment and will have planned and delivered a portfolio of events/projects to meet targets, within budget. You will also have a proven track record of building and maintaining relationships with a variety of stakeholders from diverse backgrounds

Senior Community and Events Fundraiser, an excellent opportunity to join a long-standing regional Hospice, with Head Office based in Surrey area.

• This role can be either Full-Time (37.5 hours a week) or Part-Time (30 hours a week).
• Hybrid working pattern, with a min of 3 days office based for Full-Time hours.
• Salary; Full-Time - £35,000 per annum. Part-Time - £28,000 per annum.
• Must have a driving license.

As the Senior Community and Events Fundraiser, you will work with the Community and Events Lead, and be responsible for ensuring the delivery of the community and events fundraising plans and activities. You will managing a varied portfolio of events, including third party, challenges and bespoke. Along with engaging with the community to develop and implement plans for maximising income and support from individuals, groups and businesses.

Key Responsibilities for ensuring the delivery of community and events fundraising plans and activities:

• Manage, achieve and where possible exceed Community and Events income targets, taking a lead for specific projects, activities and events.
• Support the Community and Events Lead, contributing to the development of annual plans and budgets.
• Project manage challenge events (e.g. London Marathon, bike rides, skydives etc.), liaise with third-party organisers, participant recruitment and participant support.
• Work with other teams across Fundraising and MarComms to market and promote fundraising products, activities and events.
• Organise events, including liaison with venues, suppliers, monitoring expenditure, volunteers and participants and ensure all preparation is complete.
• Ensure an excellent level of supporter care and stewardship with supporters is maintained and developed.
• Provide regular reports and information about activities, supporters and volunteers.
• Line management of a Community and Events Fundraising Assistant.

To be successful in this Senior Community and Events Fundraiser role, you will have gained skills and experiences in the following areas;

• Previous experience working in fundraising in either a community, challenge or mass participant event capacity.
• Experience of establishing and maintaining strong relationships with individual fundraisers/supporters and/or, managing fundraising events.
• Experience of working to budgets, targets and plans.
• Previous experience of managing staff and/or volunteers.
• Knowledge of fundraising regulations.
